HOTEL ĎUMBIER**

History

Hotel Ďumbier was built between 1908 and 1910 according to the project of Budapest architects Fabián Wannenmacher and Miklós Führer. In the past, there were hospitality facilities on the current site of the Ďumbier hotel. Probably at the beginning of the second half of the 17th century, a ground-floor town inn was built, which burned down in 1682. They rebuilt the ground floor. It is interesting that in 1855 the great writer Bozena Němcová also used the services of the tourist city hotel for temporary accommodation while visiting Brezno and its surroundings. Well-known fairs and cattle markets were held in the city, not only from the immediate vicinity, but also from more distant regions of the former Austria-Hungary.
